This edition brings together Conall Ó Maoláin on a video sampler built with Jitter, JavaScript, and poly~, Leo Andreas Rei on Irys 2 as a Max for Live rhythm-generation device for realistic, detailed rhythms in real time with full control and playability, and Paulo Vitor Itaboraí on quantum computers and quantum algorithms in Max, RNBO, and RNBO-powered web apps, with reflections on early Quantum Computer Music practice and modular hybrid musical systems.

Prototyping the video sampler
From loose ideas to a playable prototype: Jitter video playback, JavaScript, and poly~ instancing using the video sampler as the example.
Irish musician and audiovisual engineer based in Berlin. BA Music Performance, Royal Irish Academy of Music (2019). Performer with RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, Glasshouse Ensemble, RIAM Percussion Ensemble, Rachel Lavelle, Ruth Mac. Recording since 2016; EP “Sports Day Vol. 1” (2024) as sportswear. Audiovisual work spans live visuals and music for immersive AV installations.

Irys 2 — Rhythm Generation with a Human Touch
Irys as a generative rhythm designer for detailed, realistic rhythms in any time signature, driven by a classic algorithm newly brought into playable tools.
Artist and music technologist (they/them): classical and jazz piano, audio engineering, synthesis, live performance. Max for Live and programming since October 2024; sole developer at GLYMMA Labs, building devices that reward curiosity with lifelike virtuosity, playfulness, and strong design.
